BACKGROUND TO ANNA SHERIDAN
1995 was the year that changed Anna Sheridan’s life completely.
A full time mum to two young children and a part time job in a supermarket, kept her fully occupied.
Both Anna and her husband Tom were full time smokers, who used to get through a packet of 20 cigarettes a day each. It was their kids constant pleas for them to stop smoking that finally made them decide to try and kick the habit. It was a decision that was to change Anna’s life.
They had heard about a Laser Therapy centre in Glasgow through friends, and having tried and failed to stop smoking using other methods, decided to book in for a course of treatment.
The results were amazing. Two hardened smokers stopped overnight and have never smoked since. Over the course of the treatment Anne and Anna struck up a close relationship, and it was from this new friendship that the decision was made to train Anna to become a Laser Therapist.
After the initial training, Anna opened Dumfries and Galloways first Laser Therapy Stop Smoking Centre in July 1995
As word spread throughout the area of her many successes the business continued to grow and Anna soon found it turning into a full time occupation.
The opening of a new more centralised centre at 43, Galloway Street in Dumfries in August 1998 was the next progression
As well as clients from S.W. Scotland, Anna welcomes people frequently from places like Carlisle, Newcastle, and even Blackpool.
Little did Anna know that through the result of stopping smoking a whole new career would develop.
What first developed as a family decision to get healthier, has led to a whole new change of lifestyle for the Sheridan family.
The kids were especially delighted when a family holiday to Disneyland in Florida in 1997 was paid in full with the savings from their parents stopping smoking.
